Yesterday was Dr Sjoerd (Theodoor) Meijer's last day here at The Terrace Medical Centre
In January we announced that Dr Meijer would soon be leaving us. After a 2-year stay here in Aotearoa NZ, he and his whānau are returning home to the Netherlands and will be greatly missed by the TTMC team. We're so grateful for all his time here and wish him and his whānau all the best - haere pai!
Care of Dr Meijer's patients
We are continuing to search for a new GP to take over Dr Meijer's role and will keep his current patients updated once we have secured a replacement. In the meantime, our nurse practitioner, Jasper Nacilla, along with our other doctors and nursing team will still be available to provide care to you.
We understand that there have been recent concerns in the media regarding medical centres losing doctors, and patients having difficulty accessing care. If you were a patient of Dr Meijer, please be assured that we have processes in place to minimize interruptions to your access to appointments and prescriptions. However, there may be slightly longer wait times for processing prescription requests and a small delay in scheduling non-urgent appointments until we are able to get a permanent replacement for him.
