Te Mauri: rōpū for whānau Māori experiencing cancer available in Porirua

Te Mauri (Whakamana Māori Whānau with Cancer) is a rōpū for patients and their whānau experiencing cancer.

The rōpū meets on Rāapa / Wednesday evenings between 4-6PM at the Mary Potter Hospice Day Unit in Ranui Heights.

"Using trained kaitiaki, Te Mauri offers a safe, nurturing space where you and your whānau can meet, learn and share stories and knowledge with others. We use our pūrakau and atuatanga to support whānau in understanding the journey from a Mātauranga Māori perspective. Te Mauri seeks to prioritise your cancer support needs, and we will walk beside you, wherever you may be in your journey."

Kōkiri Marae Health & Social Services fund Te Mauri and the Mana Wāhine team delivers it.

If you are interested in being referred to Te Mauri, please discuss this with your GP or Nurse Practitioner.
